GREETING & ANNOUNCEMENTS

PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

The Peace of Christ be with you.

And also with you.

Let us extend the right hand of Christian fellowship to our neighbors.

*HYMN #455

"All Creatures of Our God and King"

*CALL TO WORSHIP  [Psalm 78:1-4]

Give ear, O  my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

I will open my mouth in a parable;

I will utter dark sayings from of old, things that we have heard and known, that our ancestors have told us.

We will not hide them from their children; we will tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.

Give thanks to the Lord and call upon God’s Name; make known God’s deeds among the peoples.

Let us worship our God.

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Almighty God, we have been wandering on the wilderness of sin.  We have complained in the face of your mercy.  We have been selfish and conceited in the face of your sacrifice.  We have not done your will.  Teach us humility.  Teach us gratitude.  Infuse your Spirit into our beings so that we might be reconciled to you.  In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray.  Amen.  [Followed by a moment of silent prayer.]

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

People of God, our sins are forgiven.  The Lord is loving, and we are reconciled to God.  Therefore, let us humble and surrender ourselves to the will of God for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.  Let us forgive one another.  Amen.

RESPONDING TO THE WORD

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH [“The Apostles' Creed”]

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.  I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.  On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen.

"Take Our Bread"

THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION

Invitation to the Lord’s Table.

The Great Prayer of Thanksgiving.

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give thanks and praise.

It is truly right and our greatest joy to give you thanks and praise,  . . .

. . .  Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with angels and archangels and with all the faithful of every time and place, who forever sing to the glory of your name:

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.  Hosanna in the highest.  Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.  Hosanna in the highest.

Accept this, our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving as a living and holy offering of ourselves, that our lives may proclaim the One crucified and risen.  Great is the mystery of faith:

Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again.

OUR LORD’S PRAYER  [Matthew 6:9-13]

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our  debtors;  and  lead  us not into temptation,  but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.  Amen.

Breaking of the Bread.

Communion of the people.

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

Loving God, we thank you that you have gathered us here together in this Holy place.  We are truly grateful that you have fed us in this Sacrament, united us with Christ, and given us a foretaste of the heavenly banquet in your eternal Kingdom.  By the power of your Holy Spirit, send us out to live and work to your praise and glory, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

TAKING THE WORD INTO THE WORLD
